You have to keep in mind that I was replying to someone that was suggesting
invading the netherworld. No, this isn't *all* the invasion info over all
that time, but pretty much sums up recent events. I've tried and tried
figuring things out, roleplaying instead of fighting... But when the undead
left, that was a major blow, my king dying, that was the end for me (I had
never gotten an invasion-related message from my other character on the
continent, despite him having been to multiple realms). When one doesn't
have the grand picture, what is one to do? Take command of his army, learn
what strategies work best, and drive the daimons out of the lands. After
all, an inhuman enemy of the daimons told us to do exactly this. Sure, OOC
we are told battle is not the answer, but when everyone is so clueless as to
what's going on, it's the only path to take.
I've played on both sides, with and against daimons, I witnessed the closing
and the opening of portals. It can only be done from this side, from what I
know, though how the original portals got open beats me, perhaps that was
supposed to be an interesting story line. The thing is, I don't think rulers
are whining because they can't do what they want to do, after all, it's not
that hard to strike a deal with daimons to get back at someone. I think alot
of people in general aren't enjoying themselves because they feel completely
powerless and lost. They don't know what the daimons are doing, and there's
nothing they can do about it either. As I said, I've worked on both sides...
I never got any response from the daimons with one character, and, well...
why do you think it was so easy to get so many Vlaanderen nobles against
Arcane? Sure, he's an upidy god reigning from all-high, not bothering with
the affairs of mere mortals... Well, a human character with that kind of
mute bahaviour wouldn't have lasted very long... Indeed, neither would have
Arcane had he not had many thousands of CS on his side.
Keep in mind, my in-depth knowledge of invasion affairs ended when
Jean-Olivier, King of Fwuvoghor, got killed. For many, they never even got
the chance to know as much stuff in a far longer ammount of time. I'm not
saying the invasion has no content, I'm saying most simply don't know any of
it, hence why they want a return to normal human diplomatics, 'cause there
they feel they actually know what's going on, what they are talking about,
and that they can actually do a difference.
