That may sound good from an insider perspective, if you know what the real
method of defeating them is. But from here in the trenches, we have no idea
what that real method is. We tried the "move all the food out" trick. That
worked for a while. Then they just started eating the peasants. We tried not
fighting them, but they just looted everything, preached daimon worship
everywhere, sent invincible assassins against us, and started driving cities rogue
through constant looting.

We played Daimon-Portal-Whack-a-Mole for a while. They just kept getting
reopened without any warning (or, seemingly, any logic either).

But from a player perspective, fighting the daimons to kill the soldiers had the
emminently practical purpose of getting them the heck out of our regions. What
would you rather do: let them roam, maraud, loot, and drive all your regions
rogue while your cities starved, or kill them now and (hopefully) let someone
else deal with a (possibly) more powerful daimon army later?

The fact is that many realms *had* to fight the daimons, and do it *now*. No
one knew any other way to get rid of them short of letting them eat all of your
peasants, and hopefully they'll move on before destroying your realm. And if
anyone did know, they sure as heck weren't sharing the info.

Again, no one knows what else to do. We've heard many times that "you can't
fight them, you need to think". Well, we've tried that. Apparently we players
simply aren't good enough thinkers.

I've been a ruler for the entire invasion, and I have no clue what's going on. It's
not because I didn't pay attention, either. I did. I tried talking to various people
about. Everyone is hoarding information, lying, or just doesn't realize that what
they know is important.
