And this is exactly the kind of feedback we've been needing for some time.
Previous invasions have followed a reasonably recognizable pattern: normal, buildup, attack, flood, defeat, decline, normal. This "invasion", if it can still be called such, clearly has not followed that pattern, but everyone has been more or less assuming there is at least *a* way, one that might be decipherable from some of the Daimons' words, that will lead to their eventual total defeat, and a return to status quo ante.
If what you are saying is that this is not going to happen, and we more or less have to redefine what "normal" means, I think that many of us can live with that, too: we just need to *know* it, so we don't continue (at least OOC) in the "we're still in the middle of an invasion" mentality, and can start to move on to thinking of ways to, essentially, live with the Daimons.
