It does seem rather pointless, boring and non-interactive. But I'll use 
the time to get rich, fight what wars I can anyway, and hope they bugger 
off sooner rather than later because, as you've said, it seems not to 
matter what the players do (and the daimons seem to give the message 
that if you get in the way they'll just turn on god-mode and walk 
through anyway). I guess the GM's enjoy it.
