Hmm, well some things certainly would be a matter of opinion:

- moving forward one round, when you were already in range, only to have 
to move back again the following round to avoid close combat.  Very keen 
and eager, but pretty pointless.
- moving from a position where they could fire on the enemy and not be 
fired on at all, to a position where they were now in range of the 
enemy.  All very brave and heroic, but why put yourself in danger?

The first one made no sense to me.  The second makes more sense (they 
did indeed get better shots by moving forward, though suffered 
casualties as a result).  It is a shame that this isn't something you 
can choose an option for.  Would be nice to decide whether to command my 
men to stay back and preserve themselves, or to move forward heroicly 
and die in glory.
