Doesn't surprise me one bit.  Being willing to commit horrible  
atrocities can get you ahead in BattleMaster much, much faster simply  
because more of the game's options are open to you.

Riombara, for instance, just apologized publicly when someone started  
a brutal takeover, without any permission to do so, and nearly banned  
him for it.  However, if we had, instead, gone after the region,  
marauding, looting, killing, burning, etc, we might well own it now.

It would be nice if the moral high ground were a little less of a  
mechanics disadvantage, especially since very few realms actually  
care enough about the morals of other realms for it to affect  
diplomacy...but I'll keep at it.  Maybe some of Delvin's proteges  
will eventually rule realms of their own, and spread the philosophy...
