Arbin didn't want it at all, but he took it from Skye anyway. It was 
cold, and uncomfortable to hold. He didn't see what was so great about 
the diamond within either.

He looked up at her, a grin flashed across his face. He flicked his 
wrist again, this time a dagger slipped into his hand. It slid easily 
into the soft flesh of Skye. Pain shot up through her to wide opened 
eyes, tears began to form. In and out, the dagger cut her. Blood flowed 
out of her wounds.

Skye blinked. Blood no longer ran down her gown, the pain had 
disappeared, and tear drops no longer fell from her face. Arbin was 
kissing her, his mouth against hers.

Arbin stepped backwards to see the expression on her face, but wasn't 
sure what he saw. Surprise, sadness, anger; or maybe even happiness.

The stone dropped from his shaking hand. It hit the floor with a thud, 
and a piece of the rock splintered away revealing more of the diamond.

"I'm sorry." He quickly mumbled. And those were his last words before he 
left the castle.
