quaint and cozy decorated with many oddities. Cushioned chairs dotted around
the parlor with a small fireplace at one end and a small round table at the
other with Jens flowers in a ivory vase sitting upon it. From the parlor
they passed into the Great hall presently rather plain looking and only used
for large feasts. Off of the Great hall was a smaller dining room that had a
large window overlooking the vegetable garden. Servants were busily
preparing the room for the nights dinner. Amelie took the chance to refill
Jens' glass from the bottle sitting on the dining table. From there they
entered back into the main corridor passing the kitchen, pantry and servants
quarters before ending up back at front door. This time Amelie headed right,
leading Jens' up the steps that circled the tower up towards the second
floor all the mean while urging him to sip from his glass. The archway from
the tower opened up to a large lavish library with dark wooden tables and
book shelves. Windows ran along one wall with alluran blue curtains, the
other wall hung maps, paintings and portraits. Adjacent to the library were
the guest rooms for visiting nobility. Passing the private study and meeting
room, the tour had come to a close at the duchess' chamber. Amelie pushed
open the double doors and led Jens in closing the door behind them.
...Meanwhile...
The march had been long and slow going for the most part. The men were
starting to grumble so Annaej was glad to be back within her cities walls.
Taking out a pouch of coins, she tossed it to Captain Gawin. The men had had
a tough week of civil work and that would cover the dance hall for tonight.
With her men dismissed, Annaej strolled down the street leading her horse
behind her. The poor beast had deserved a rest too after carrying her from
Elloranaal. The night deepened as the gates disappeared behind her and she
was submerged in the populous city.
