After leaving the town, Fetz spoke to Daeni, "You are the company's new
healer. If you remain quiet, you will remain unharmed. Though it really
doesn't bother me either way. Your father will have to deliver the letter
and its reply before he finds out your condition. Whether you're safe or
lying in some ditch along some forgotten road when he brings back the letter
will serve my purpose. But I'd rather you allow me to keep my word."

Daeni whimpered her consent while silently vowing revenge when this was all
over.
