Eowyn stomped back to her tent, after wandering out through Galadia.

"VOLTZ! In here now!" If she was going to be upset, people were going to
know.

"Yes, my lady?" Captain Voltz stood in the doorway, seeming to be more
timid around her than usual. He'd probably been hearing rumours from the
peasants.

"Voltz - there you are. Bring me the war chest." She slammed her fist
down on the table. Bloody peasants. Staring at her as she walked around.
Who in the world could have started such rumours?!

"...the...the war chest, my lady?" Voltz was definitely not his usual
confident self. If this continued, she may just have to demote her
captain - a real shame after his prowess in battle.

"Yes, Voltz, the war chest."

"Wouldn't you rather, maybe, the training-chest, or perhaps I could just
bring you some water?" Voltz was definitely overstepping his bounds.
He'd heard something.

"Voltz, if I wanted my selection of meads, I would have asked for it - I
want the war chest: it's a whiskey sort of night!" Eowyn was getting
more frustrated by the second. Why was this sort of thing happening?
What was the world coming to?

"Should a woman in your condition really be..."

"THAT'S IT!" Eowyn slammed her fist on the nearest chest, rattling the
swords inside. "What condition are you talking about?! Have you been out
fraternizing with locals?" The second she said it, she wanted to bite
her tongue.

"It's not my fraternizing that's in..." Voltz started, without any
consideration of the danger of what he was saying.

"OUT! And if my war chest isn't here in 5 minutes, you are so beyond
demoted, my good sir. You can find a new regiment to serve!" Voltz slunk
out of Eowyn's tent, hopefully soon to return with many bottles which
were carefully toted around with the unit, no matter where they hunted.
While she may want to be treated as a lady when with nobles, around her
troops she had no worries about drinking like a man. And tonight, she
needed a drink.

Who was slandering Menedor? And why?
