[RPG] [Dwi][PeL] Alanna Anaris ~ An Unexpected Reunion

Alanna lets the wax drip onto the bottom of the document, then carefully
presses the Royal seal into it.

"There," she mutters. "Damned bureaucrats, why can't they keep the proper
titles for anything?"

She calls a scribe over to have the newly restored Royal Arbitrator title
proclaimed to all and sundry.

"And send in my latest messages; I should have a *little* free time now
before I have to return to Giask and mingle with the locals..."

The scribe bows his way out, and in a few minutes a messenger arrives with a
stack of paper. Seeing its height, Alanna lets out a small, involuntary
groan. The messenger sets it down on her desk with an audible "thump."

As he does, one small piece slips out of the stack and flutters to the
floor. Alanna catches it, notes that it is the report of new nobles arriving
in Pian en Luries, and is about to set it aside, when the name on the report
catches her eye.

"This report," she says sharply to the messenger, "can you confirm it?"

The messenger bows, and replies, "Your Majesty, I was not there, but I have
spoken with those who were, and they confirm that the noble who arrived was
Yavanna Galadeon."

Alanna springs out of her chair, nearly knocking it over, and says firmly,
"The paperwork can wait. I will be back in an hour or two.

"I have to go greet an old friend."
