A letter arrives.

Merum's expression drops, as if his heart had just been ripped from
his chest. "Augh!" Utter disbelief and terror. For a moment, he cannot
move. Then, all unravels quickly....

He flies about his state room in Athol Margos, grabbing several items,
stuffing them in a satchel...he cries for the serving hands to ready
his horse with provisions...

...but he cannot wait.

Both Merum and the steed were out of sight by the time the serving
hands returned with the saddlebags...
