[RPG] [BT] Phoebe ~ Power Play

[OOC: some of this is RP from Tom, some is RP from Phoebe, some is  
written-out versions of regular messages]

The portal stones glow brightly, then they slowly drift up into the sky.

Not far from the ground, they begin to rotate, and pulse. Energy  
waves lighten up the evening sky. Then, suddenly, a portal becomes  
visible, a hundred feet above the mountains.

The stones start to fly towards the portal, growing and forming one  
massive stone-gate. They slam into the portal opening, sealing it shut.

Then, gate and portal fade from view, and an unearthly silence falls  
over the land...

Curses, Phoebe thinks. That didn't work...

Then, hearing a voice like thunder shout, "FOOLS!" she turns white,  
and yells to all the other adventurers,

"RUN!!"

She grabs her pack and pelts like mad toward the south.

When she reaches Gaxano, she stops briefly to write a letter to Delvin:
Portal in Zisswii closed. No time to chat. Warn Khthon—Daimons.

Then she continues on, looking behind her every few steps, sure she  
will see an army of Daimons flying after her, lighting the sky with  
their anger.

Phoebe reaches Dyomoque in record time, running like the Demons of  
the Pits themselves are on her heels—as, to her, seems quite likely.

She runs to the Ducal palace and is, of course, immediately stopped  
by the guard. "I have to see Duke Quinn!" she yells between gasps for  
breath.

"Why in the name of all that is good should I let you see the Duke?"  
he replies, taking in her disheveled and filthy appearance.

Phoebe looks around, snarling in frustration. "Tell him it's Phoebe,  
and that there's probably an army of Daimons on their way here right  
now!"
