"One thing I really do miss is the..fields of Lorient. The city of Aix 
is by no means an adequate replacement for those open expanses."

Evangeline relaxed now that she could stop pretending to like the crab 
and broccoli bisque.

"Duke Screndt, I have to commend you that your city looks fantastic as 
always."

The Duke nodded silently, he didn't need to be told that he did an 
excellent job running Aix, he was well aware of that.  During the great 
war Screndt had single handedly controlled the monster rampages around 
his duchy and had repelled the Ibladesh attacks alone by recruiting and 
placing militia on Aix's sturdy walls.  They both knew that Screndt 
cared for and kept the Aix duchy under strict control.

As a dish of veal was placed in front of Evangeline, she cut delicately 
into its soft, juicy flesh.  The Aix cook was indeed beyond compare in 
his abilities in the kitchen.  To Evangeline's dismay, green stalks 
could be seen protruding from the neat cut.

Evangeline slowly reached for a sip of wine before continuing,

"Duke Screndt, these meals are astounding.  I have to inquire, do you 
always eat like this in Aix?"
