in Dimwood. His mulled wine next to him, strangely untouched.*

"Breck!" Calls Maelg. His scribe appears at his shoulder.

"I have done something I'm not proud of. Please take a message to Duke
Screndt in Aix at once."

Breck raises an eyebrow. He's not used to his Lord having a conscience.

"Write this down:

Duke Screndt,

I hope this does not find you too late. I gave you a red herring. The Queen
does not love brocolli, she detests it with a passion.
