Upon Queen Evangeline's arrival to the solar, Duke Screndt rose, the
morning sun shining brightly behind him. "My Queen, it is an honour to
finally host you at this brunch. It was long in coming. We really
should clear our schedules more often." He held out her chair and sat
her before walking to his side of the table and seating himself.

"I hope your time on the islands was enjoyable. I have not yet been
there myself, though I have seen them from afar. On a clear day, you
can make out the southern one from one of the higher parapets of one
of the churches here in the city. It really is a breathtaking view
from up there. Perhaps you would enjoy seeing it." With a smile, he
continues, "We should fortify ourselves for the climb with the meal."
The food was arriving.

"I trust the meal will be to your liking," he opined. The first dish
brought out, a broccoli and crab bisque, was brought out and set
before them. "With the weather such as it is on the islands, I hope
this brings you some much-needed warmth."
