"Are you sure this is a good idea?" asked Quincy, hesitantly.

Sarigan finished clumsily nailing his freshly painted sign to the post using
a newly dented vambrace.

"Of course it is! You know how nobles are: preening, lazy and
self-absorbed. They'll need every bit of help to get themselves to the
front in time. Most of them would probably get lost along the way without a
blatant bit of advertised incentive."

"Perhaps something more subtle. I really don't think people will appreciate
it when..."

"NONSENSE! I'm a noble, Quincy, and I know how they...we think. If there's
no booze, women or whining involved, we aren't interested!"

"Is that why you make me write all your correspondence for you?"

"Precisely. You need to entice people to get things done. Throw a little
motivation before them. Wet their appetites."

"And when they find out you're lying?"

"That's why we always have to keep moving. Speaking of which, we'd best be
off before anyone spots us here. BREAK COVER!

Two dozen partly stripped bushes, clearly held together by various lengths
of rope and cloth ties suddenly stood around them.
"We march to glory... or some other similar nonsense. Perhaps we'll be
lucky enough not to sit on our backsides for a week before it decides to
show up this time."
Quincy simply shook his head and started walking. Behind them, an old sign
post was planted by the roadside and marking the way to Galadia. Below, a
new addition pointed the same direction, but read "free booze".
