Diodorus was hiding in the shade of a grain depot, silently congratulating 
himself on a job well done distracting the militia. Paying the ferryman to 
stand out of range and hurl insults at the guards had distracted them enough 
to send a few units out to get him and that had been enough for Diodorus to 
run up to the temporarily abandoned guard post and climb up and over the 
wall. Doubtless he would have to move on or face discovery, but better to 
look before you leap, or you might be leaping into something that stank.

He inspected the device, usually used for sabotage ops. Due to its ability 
to spray flames, Diodorus dubbed it the "Burninator 1000", also known as the 
"Peasant-B-Gone". Now, however, it seemed to be stuck. Diodorus tapped it.

"Bloody shoddy workmanship," Diodorus muttered, "I don't know why I paid 
that much or it... could have used a bit more gold now."

He tabbed it a few more times then gave up and chucked it on the floor in a 
huff. Without warning it went off, and the flame blossomed and hit the grain 
silo he was hiding behind, igniting the hay.

"Oh, drat..."

Diodorus sighed, grabbed his toolkit and ran northwards.
