Greetings Baiko,

I pray this letter finds you well, as communication by ship is unreliable at
the best of times, and my birds simply do not have the stamina to cross an
ocean. If you are reading this, then I owe someone a great debt of
gratitude.

All hell has broken loose here since your departure. Vast numbers of Undead
have been sighted in Mio Dupaki and they have already claimed their first
Noble casualty during a skirmish in Ardmore, where brave Vorax met his
untimely demise.

While the war against Irombrozia is not officially over, our priorities have
changed considerably with the arrival of the undead on our very doorstep,
shifting to the fortifications of Grehk rather than the subjugation of
Irombro. In so close proximity to the source of this plague, I fear that
Riombara has not yet seen its blackest hour…

Another blow landed this morning when Pipeta, the widow of my late brother
Weylyn, died from a cancer of the blood. With the loss of Pipeta came an
unpleasant reminder of my own mortality. These are not good times to be on
this continent, and yet I cannot help but long for your presence.  Despite
our differences I cannot help but long to hear your voice again, whatever
tidings it may bring.

Wherever you are, my prayers go with you. I hope to hear from you again.
