Thalathafn trod down the wooden stair case into the empty tavern in the
early morning. He passed a man sleeping at the bar as he pushed open the
doors into the crisp autumn air. Strolling down the familiar streets, they
were just as he had remembered but the atmosphere was some how different.
The Anacan now was a much different city than he had remembered from his
youth. The population seemed sparse, much fewer than he remembered. He
passed many abandoned shops as the owners had left the city in the months
passed. Reaching the central plaza, Thalathafn paused to listen to the
propaganda gathering support for the crown. "I sure hope this new government
is as great as he says." Thalathafn was aware the people had gone through
some hard times having heard about the rebellion not to long ago within the
realm. It was time to visit his foster parents and tell them he had
returned. After having spent the past few years abroad looking for his birth
father, he had decided the quest was futile. Anacan was his home and he was
dedicated to rebuilding the city into the prosperous one from his youth. The
experience he had gained both on the battlefield and the political arena
should be useful in Cathay.
