Scion sighed as he moved through the woods of Idaol carrying a shovel.
Now he had time. His tracking skills were put to the test once more. He
followed the trail carefully. He'd hated the thought of spying on
someone, but it needed to be done. He didn't want anymore risks. He'd
gotten himself into this mess, and instead of getting out he'd gone
deeper in. He checked a nearby tree. There were the markings of a dog of
some kind. A slight grin crossed his face and he continued on. The trail
he'd left himself was still in place, and he knew no one had followed
him. His sharp hearing would have picked them up by now.

Finally he found it. An area that felt dark. He moved to where it was
strongest. The feeling of an evil spirit was in the air, and almost in
his breath. He sighed and went to work. He began digging until he'd hit
something that sounded like metal. Scion quickly moved some of the
earth. He found it. The pieces of Arkenine. He took out a few pieces and
then buried the rest again while mumbling to himself.

"The things I do for people..."

He patched up the hole so it looked like it hadn't been disturbed. He
quickly ran into the forest. Several hours later he emerged from the
woods. He'd buried most of the pieces in random locations around the
woods. He headed west. At the shores of Idaol he looked out into the
water. He knew no one had followed him so far. He buried a fragment in
the sands of the beach. Finally he took the last piece and looked at it.
So much trouble over a blade. The waters would only make the piece wash
ashore. He didn't want that. He went out onto a ledge overlooking the
water and buried the last piece under a large rock. He'd had to dig
carefully. Satisfied with his work he walked to a hut along the beach.
He left the shovel inside and left. It's easy to find a sword, but not
scattered fragments.
