*Hireshmont listens to the speech and remains impassive as much as he
can. He cannot help but smile a bit at the mention of Marc with the
title of King. For Delvin to say that was an insult and everyone did
it. Delvin's words were just so much sound and fury, signifying
nothing. He knew that these kinds of words were what swayed Delvin's
allies to his cause. They truly believed he was sincere, they truly
believed he was honorable. That was why he attached that garish title
to everything, "Guardian of the Sun".*

*But Hireshmont knew... he knew that it was a pretense here. Any
friendship Delvin had held for Marc was dead. If Delvin truly felt
such remorse for the death of Marc... then he could do something
about it. He could try to even the debt and either honorably end his
own life or else work to end the feud and recognize Irombrozia as a
sovereign state, or at least something besides words which were...
meaningless.*

*Hireshmont glanced over at Baiko, who was clearly enraged. She was
obviously having to physically contain herself and her entourage
looked jumpy. The guards were all on edge just waiting for a chance
to get at Delvin if Hireshmont gave the sign.*

"Well... let them wait," mumbles Hireshmont.

*The funeral had no political purpose in Hireshmont's mind, but he
knew that no one would believe him if he said that. No one would
believe that when he allowed Delvin into the city unmolested, and
gave strict orders that he not be touched, he didn't mean it as some
political ploy, but as an honest gesture of goodwill and belief in
doing what was right. The reputation Hireshmont had so once
treasured, and feared would be broken into shambles, now proved far
too solid to be broken.*

*When Delvin walked away at the end of his speech, Hireshmont
gestured to a guard*

"Catch up with him. Offer my thanks for his speech, it is... of
signifigance to us. Also give him this," *Hireshmont removes the ring
he has worn for so long: the WCC top secret seal ring* "Perhaps he
will understand it."

*Then Hireshmont steps forward to the podium as the messenger rushes
off after Delvin*

"Are there any others who would say a few words at this occasion?"
