Pierre Chénier practically jumped into the room, surprising Felquiste and
his servants that were tailoring his armour. The man looked full of life,
even though some signs of old age were finally creeping up on him. He paced
up up to Felquiste, with a wide smile on his face, and put his hand on his
son's shoulder.

Hen then turned around and paced a bit, as Felquiste watched him, unknowing
of how to react.

"I probably should have come sooner, you know, when I first heard of this...
But, well, life's busy sometimes, eh? 'Was back on Atamara, back with my
brother, that is, your uncle, Alexandre, and the rest of his family. A sad
bunch, are they." He looked around and walked a bit closer, putting his hand
beside his mouth and whispering: "They lost a son, y'see, their eldest. Full
o' promise, quite a source of power, too, not to mention he had access to a
fair ammount of gold, bein' a king and all, you know. Your cousin
Jean-Olivier, that is. Things aren't looking up, either, their other son had
a short moment of success, but he can't seem to stay put for long, word says
he's into that religious buisness, not very lucrative buisness, that is, the
power, questionnable." He started walking around again, giving Felquiste
some time to digest all this. He still couldn't make sense of all this,
though the pacing was starting to irritate him for he couldn't move much
with the servants still doing their work.

"And you are... my...," he began.
"Yes, I'm you father, my name's Pierre Chénier, you must have heard. Did I
not tell? Yes, well, terribly sorry... Yes, well, you seem rather able to
handle yourself, I'm quite proud, your mother would be too. Quite sorry
about having you sent to the religious nut house and all to be raised...
Can't say you're the only one though, or that your mom was either before we
finally tied the not... But you can rejoice, your blood is pure!"

Felquiste was baffled by the man's comments. His carelessness, how he
treated such things with as such banalities, he felt almost insulted.

"Thank you, father...," he mumbled.

"Come on, son," he said as he dismissed the servants. "Let's go talk some
more about this over food, shall we? I want to hear more about you."

Felquiste agreed, he had no idea how to react to all this, so he just
followed along... He was finally becoming a true member of the Chénier
family, though he didn't quite understand what that really meant.
