Roleplay from Lek
After battling in Korlock morning and then night, Lek was very tired.
Wielding sword and shield for hours on end took a lot out of a girl. She
had lost too many of her boys and eight were still lying wounded, but
they had all fought gloriously and she was very proud. Lek was ready for
some ale and some rest, but she still had a mission to complete.
She looked at the collection of Ikalakian heads that she had gathered,
somewhat ashamed of the ragged cuts. Lek didn’t usually go in for
beheading, and imagined it might be easier handled with an axe.
Nonetheless, she had done her best. She had her men load a keg of ale
into the cart with the heads, and they trundled it towards Sennianus’
encampment.
Lek recognized Sennianus' captain among the few men huddled around the
fire. “Captain Wolfgang, isn’t it?,” she smiled warmly, “I’ve brought a
gift for your men—to aid their recovery.” She uncovered the ale in the
cart and gestured to her men to retrieve it for the Beserkergang. “I
have something here for your Lord, is he about?”
Wolfgang, who had been practically smacking his lips at the sight of the
ale barrel looked suddenly sour, jerking his head towards the main tent,
he said, “The ‘lord’ is sleeping. Did you want me to awaken him?”
Lek could tell that Wolfgang very much did *not* want her to have him do
this. She wondered how well his men had been managing with their “new”
master. “No, that’s not necessary; we’ll just leave the gifts.” At that,
she uncovered the bloody heads in the cart. Wolfgang chuckled at her,
“Not sure he’ll appreciate your gift, lady.”
“Well, he’s getting it anyway. Do you mind if we just set them up?”
“Do as you like, lady. We haven’t been paid in days, and I’m not sure
we’ll even be here in the morning.”
Lek and her men pulled stakes and the heads from the cart and began
arranging them artistically around the camp. When they were done she
handed a note to Wolfgang. “If you can’t stay, at least see that he gets
my message.”
Wolfgang guffawed loudly, “Well, we might stay, lady, just to see his
face when he gets your presents.”
After Lek and her men trudged away, Wolfgang read the note:
“Sennianus, my own sweet, beautiful man,
I know the real you still lives inside that steel shell.
Remember.
Please come back to me. I am always,
Your Fair Lek"
Lady Lek Kindon (Countess of Unagae)
