Roleplay from Lek

Lek had never been one for beseeching the gods, and unlike her twin, she
didn’t feel the need to go around making a big fuss about them. Today,
however, she needed the gods’ favour. There were no temples of her
faith here, so she would have to make do with what she could. She went
into the village and sought out the baker. The man was surly, and did
not have what she wanted, but agreed, rather reluctantly, that he could
do as she required. Lek paid over what seemed an exorbitant sum for fat
and flour and arranged to return in an hour.

Lek spent the time wandering through the market and down to the
lakefront. The villagers she passed eyed her with some hostility, but
as they kept it to themselves, she ignored it. Soon they would look at
Taselak with love and pride. She ate some extremely tasty smoked fish
before heading back to the bakery.

Her purchase made, Lek headed into the woods, walking for some time
until she found just the sort of secluded clearing that she was looking
for. She knelt in the glade and unwrapped her parcel. Lek ate a
doughnut, enjoying the familiar flavour, and washed it down with some
ale that she had brought in a flask. She crumbled the remaining
doughnuts on the ground and sprinkled the rest of the ale over the crumbs.

And then she prayed.

She prayed for guidance; she prayed for comfort; she prayed for redemption.

She prayed for Sennianus.

She prayed to all the gods of her pantheon and then she prayed to the
Viking gods for good measure.

When Lek finally rose to leave, her legs ached, but her mind felt clear.
She didn’t know if the gods had spoken to her, but for the first time
in days, Lek could see a path before her. She was a warrior, and she
was not going to let him go without a fight.

Lady Lek Kindon (Countess of Unagae)
