Roleplay from Lek

Lek and her few remaining troops were camped in Ibyp. She had been
fortunate enough to encounter Lynch and a cartload of smuggled ale just
outside of Korlock, and the journey had been pleasant enough until the
kegs had run dry--with no more ale in sight. They were following the
bulk of the army back to Sandalak, and apparently all stock was being
depleted in front of them.

Lack of ale made Lek grumpy. Also, she had half-thought she might
encounter Sennianus on the way home. He had been with the main forces,
but she thought he might wait for her. Still, tomorrow they would be in
Sandalak, and she would surely see him there.

Then, this morning, one of her own troop, Dervin, had found an ale-wife
just putting out a new batch. With ale within her and the city so close,
Lek was feeling mellow and happy as she prepared for bed. "El, I don't
know who is supposed to be training tonight, but send Dervin in, he
deserves a reward today," she told her captain.

Dervin was like a cute little puppy, she thought when he entered her
tent, all eagerness and nerves. No matter how many times he was invited
in, he was still nervous. "Come in, boyo! I won't bite you; I promise!"

Roleplay from Sennianus the Mad

Sennianus stood before the tall mirror in his tent. He inspected the few
new scars he had gained in Ikalak and Korlok. Nothing noteworthy, but
testaments of his achievements nonetheless. Afterwards, he said a few
Viking prayers for the men he had lost in the north. He had been forced
to leave them on the battlefield, and without a proper Viking funeral
they would become restless souls, forced to fight their last battle over
and over until the end of times. The thought of that filled him with
anger... and he had no way to wind down, as Lek had run into some delays
on her way back to the capital.

So he spent the evening alone, polishing his sword until it was
spotless, drinking mead until the jug was empty, lying on his bed
staring at the ceiling. Eventually he got back up to answer nature's
call, but when he walked past the tall mirror again, he noticed
something from the corner of his eye. Another figure with raven black
hair seemed to walk next to him, dressed in black armor. It was even
almost as if he knew the person. Instinctively, Sennianus drew his sword
and pointed it at the other man, but he quickly realised he was only
staring at his reflection.

By Odin... I'm starting to hallucinate... I think I had a little too
much mead tonight, Sennianus thought to himself.
