Roleplay from Sennianus the Mad
Sennianus ran his fingers through Lek's raven black hair. He looked her
in the eyes, smiled and kissed her again. "Shame... I could have sparred
all through the day and night if I had to."
He wrapped his arms around her and gave her a long hug. "You watch
yourself, you hear?" he whispered into her ear.
"Don't start with me, Sennianus..." she whispered back, "I'm a big girl,
I'll be alright."
Sennianus released her. "Wait here for just a few moments, I'll be right
back."
"Wait, what? I have to..." her words fell on deaf ears, as Sennianus
vanished between the many tents in the Taselakian camp. After a few
minutes, he came back with a large sword. The scabbard was covered in
strange symbols. When he stood before Lek, he unsheathed the sword. The
double-edged blade was long, and from the looks of it, razor-sharp. Like
the scabbard, the blade was marked with the similar symbols. Sennianus
sheathed the sword and gave it to Lek.
"My grandfather's sword." he said.
Lek was speechless. "I can't take that, what if I break or lose it?"
Sennianus grinned. "Then you and I will have a problem. So you had
better bring it back to me in one piece after the battle."
He kissed her one final time. "Now go. We'll meet again before the walls
of the White City."

Roleplay from Lek
Lek stepped back, looking at Sennianus one last moment. “I plan to be
drinking with you and Lynch after this battle, so try and stay in one
piece. I expect you to steal the ale.” She started to walk away, then
called back to him, “Stay safe, you big idiot. If you die, I will hunt
you all the way to hel and kill you again myself!”
With that, she departed rapidly, reaching her camp to find her men
already dousing the fire and preparing to leave. “Let’s move, boys!”
Lek gathered her gear and then spent some time examining and admiring
Senninus’ sword. She was incredibly moved that he had lent her this
weapon—that he trusted her with something that had belonged to his
family and was clearly special to him.
It was beautiful and just as razor-sharp as it had appeared. Lek
withdrew it fully from the scabbard and took it for a few practice
swings. She moved easily into a classic sword-training dance, her
muscles already loose from her earlier workout. The weapon had a
beautiful balance; Sennianus grandfather must not have been as big as he
was. It was slightly heavier than her usual blade, but not so much that
she wouldn’t be able to use it; and, it was so much finer.
“Nice sword, my Lady,” Captain Elrdred approached her, “A gift from your
beautiful barbarian?” She and Elrdred got along much better now that she
realized it wasn’t that he didn’t like her, it was that he didn’t like
girls that way.
“Just a loan, El, but isn’t it fine? Almost as beautiful as he is. Are
we ready to move?” At his nod, she slid the blade back into its sheath,
stowed it carefully with her gear and started walking.
