[RPG] [AT][Falasan][Hawthorne] Diodorus - Rumours for an Arsonist

Diodorus was busy in Hawthrone. Disguised as a merchant, he had strolled 
into the city, trusting to the guards to overlook much in the time of war. 
Heading to the market, he sought out the vendors of oil for his next acts of 
sabotage, and to listen to the latest chatter.

"So there he was, right, caught in bed with another man's wife, and imagine 
how that turned out" one of the vendors was saying, grinning hugely. "Turns 
out he made a dashing escape out of the windows and landed right outside a 
ale store - typical of that drunkard!"

The men laughed raucously for a bit, imagining the scene.

"Still," another merchant replied, "Not looking so good now, is he? Last I 
heard young Bufort bit off more than he could chew, and was detained by 
healers god knows where. Maybe the husband caught up with him."

Here Diodorus snorted disdainfully.

"More likely he said he was off to stab a spy and then ducked off to the 
healers tent to bed some of the young nurses. I don't suppose he intends to 
lie low without some comforts."

"True enough. Still," one of the merchants said, turning to his fellows, "I 
suspect we'll hear from him soon enough. I heard rumours that he was arguing 
with his cousin of late. Anyone know anything about that?"

As the other merchants grunted their dissent, the speaker turned to the 
place where Diodorus had been, and blinked - he was no longer there, and 
more to the point, neither were several canisters of oil.

"Say, do any of you folks know who that man was?"

As the men signified their dissent, smoke started to rise from the nearby 
granaries. As the merchants called for the local guards, Diodorus watched 
from a rooftop, and smiled darkly as he surveyed his handiwork and thought 
of the information he had just garnered.
