The challenge was issued upon the walls of the city, and he as the only
member of the realm fit to duel, had little choice but to accept, but it
would be on his terms. Only a duel to the death seemed appropriate for
recent events, and he wasnt worried about dying, he had experienced it all
before. He sat in a barricaded room listening to the maggots sizzle in the
fire and launched another from his skin with the dagger. He looked forward
to the duel, and wondered how the undead that invaded Belauterra were
killed. Afterall they are undead, how can the dead be any more dead. He
chuckled lightly to himself but that made his fury stow-away shift and
tickled his insides. That was when it dawned on him, though his blood did
not flow, part of him, or maybe not so much, was alive. His quest may come
to an end at sunset, but atleast he will be able to live with the
resolution, or more appropriately to die with it.
