She made her way to her home in Unger... the one that Despyria claimed, the one that still held secrets in the cellar, the one that still had her followers making routine visits to the cellar, a place with her new found spirituality she would not, could not, dare. Until today, her foal mood after her rigorous training brought her to a place... no back to a place... where she delighted in the pain of others.
She opened and closed the door to the cellar many times. Her softer nature, her childish innocence that she had rediscovered in Salta, at war with the woman she became as Despyria's ward. Finally she descended. The attendants melted back into the shadows as approached the torture chamber that Despyria had set up. There he was, from the descriptions she had heard, it was the previous owner of the house she now resided. His eyes looked at her with a plea in them... a plea to be free. If he had seen what she expected Despyria had done to him he would be pleaing for death. She just looked, while the war for her soul continued. She turned calmly and walked back upstairs.
In her room she dug to the bottom of a chest, finding the note she had avoided so long ago. She opened it and read it contents for the first time. She smiled darkly at Angus' attempt to cull his anger and rage at her departure. In the sparse words she read what he did not say, the implied threat and violence for what she had done. Her darker half welcomed his attempt on her, here innocence closed its eyes to what Alynna's heart and mind was showing his intent to be. She grinned, why not reply?
Why...
not?
She flipped his parchment over, being reviled while treasuring the feel of the vellum she knew was made from human skin... she wrote:
My love,
You can do better than that can't you? You tempt me as you would a naive child, promises of forgiveness, that will never come when I full well know that you will want your retribution. But what of mine? What of my retribution that you would set yourself against me so? You had but to tell me that you had other plans and endevours and you know that I would have honored them, that I as always behind you, always taking your lead. You instead had sport with me as you would a common acquaintance. Where is my retribution? I am willing to speak with you of my return, and the return of Eryn... but as you will no doubt have conditions, so will I. My first is honesty. You be honest with me or you do not have the power or resources to ever get near us.

http://news.battlemaster.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/rpgA messenger approached Angus as he travelled from Rollsovar to Outer Tilog and handed him a parchment. Angus laughed heartily at the haste with which the messenger departed. You could always tell the foreign messengers.
He read the message and dropped the parchment in the mud as he continued on. Rather presumptious of the little girl he thought, her thinking he wanted to get near her or the child again. He sighed and headed for the side of the road where he sat to write a response so that she chould not accuse him of leaving her hanging with no answer.
"Alynna,
Perhaps if you heard more than Despyria's voice whispering in your ear all the time you would have heard my plans. But you jump at the beck and call of Despyria and Despyria alone I am not foolish enough to believe that I ever really held any sway over you.
I am not looking for conditions or retribution. I do not seek forgiveness nor do I see that I need to give it. Do not confuse what once was for what is now. I will not grovel for your return...nor will I send out a welcome wagon should you decide you wish to join Despyria in Outer Tilog.
I serve Outer Tilog and you will find that Outer Tilog is my mistress for she offers me the nightmares that feed my soul and drive me to battle the demons before me, real and imagined.
~Angus
