Strangely Palnasos and Ipsosez would not be open to him... actually not so strange though Einar in his purgatory, actually quite logical and true. Hoshi had but to try and she would find him, and soar where his spirit soared... she just had to reach out and be true... something she hadn't been to him in a very long time.
In his nexus, a land of mountains and trees, He came up on a gradual leaning against a tree. Symbol of what was supposed to be a patron, he grabbed the Gradual and broke it easily over his knee and as it broke it wisped into nothingness and disappeared like so much dust. From near the top of the massive tree dropped a staircase, cascading its spirals down the length of the massive tree. Down the staircase ran a fox, his color changing and shifting as he ran, picking up speed, near flying from the staircase lunging at Einar's chest... passing into him like so much smoke. Einar was unphased, seeking the symbolism of the moment, when he was startled.
"Hi!" The beaming smiling face of Aspire Eiryn appeared before him...
Einar felt something missing. He mentioned it to Aspire, or at least he thought he did... Einar seemed like he was so far away, as if in two places at once.
"And what do you think it is?" Aspire asked patiently, so patiently that to Einar it seemed like he had asked it a multitude of times.
"Hoshi..." Einar answered with the confidence of a king... but the bluff didn't fool Aspire for a moment.
"Hoshi?!?" Aspire laughed heartily at the stab at an answer. "When is the last time you really beheld her heart? When was the last time she was yours? You know she did show me more understanding and kindness than I believe she might have ever shown you... had you but asked for her blood..." Aspire trailed off.
Einar wanted to argue, wanted to get indignate, but couldn't bring himself to it. He simply ignored the entire subject. "We are never in the same place!" Einar suddenly noticed. "We seem to be around that mountain... that was a tree, while it grows... ?"
"The mountain is not growing we are spiraling down it." Aspire said a little sadly. "Your spirit is not at rest and... your soul is searching for..."
Just then the appeared once again at the top of the mountain, and started its spiral decent at breakneck speed. "Ah it has found what it was looking for, there is not much time left now, you are coming to the end of your journey... do you know what the fox is? What it represents?" Aspire asked urgently.
Einar gave the pat answers, intelligence, cunning, camoflage, guile... before Aspire cut him off seeing the Fox spiral nearer and nearer.
"No," he said as gently as he could, "there is more search your..."
The fox hit Einar square in the chest and disipated into him... the knowledge of his life, the meaning of what Aspire was asking him, all of the places he and those bond to him had ever been, and one place he had not ever seen with his own eyes... a darkness flashed over Einar briefly, as the dark knowledge flowed into him, and he became one with the fox with an equally dark grin.
"Einar" Aspire said quietly, "You still have a choice, to pick your heaven and be rid of the spiral, be rid of the mountain..." But Einar did not her him... not because of the volume... there were no real voices here anyways... but because he was listening to the fox...
Aspire turned away from Einar and his world and drifted to another. The world of the living and the one person that could still talk to Einar, a man that had thrown off his fathers and forsaken his gods. He whispered in the sleeping woman's ear, that was actually just metaphoric as he was really in her dream.
"Only you can bring him peace now, only you can make him resist the fox, there is still time, but it is short. Go to him, speak to him, come to peace with him..."

She doubled up in pain as her stomach seemed seized with cramps. She took several deep, long breaths and brushed the hair out of her eyes. She did not cry out or call for help, instead she silently rose from the bed and walked to the window. The sky was clear, the stars bright, the air crisp. She breathed in deeply again gathering her thoughts. Much had changed in her life over the years and not all of the change had been pleasant, but here she stood no longer a little girl. No longer a young woman. Far too old some would say...far to young others might say.
The whispers in her head threatened to fill the room with their accusations, their demands. She longed for silence and yet wondered why, for silence was no answer either.
Aspire's voice echoed in her head. Einar's voice echoed in her head. William's voice echoed in her head. Odin's laugh silenced the whispers in her head.
"What is it you seek little girl." He boomed. "Who is it you wish to appease?" His voice seemed to swirl around the room, to envelope Hoshi and then it whispered in her ear, "You need appease no one but your self Queen of Svunnetland for you and you alone define who you are and what you will become."
Laughter echoed again and room seemed suddenly still. As Hoshi looked out into the courtyard she saw a fox run through the jasmine. Aspire's words echoed again in her ear, "Only you can bring him peace now, only you can make him resist the fox, there is still time, but it is short. Go to him, speak to him, come to peace with him..."
A tear slid down Hoshi's face as she closed her eyes and spoke to Einar, "This journey is yours to make Einar and you must make it without me. Either find the strengh to resist the fox and live on or find your peace and join the gods in heaven." Her daggar out she sliced her hand open and pulled a jasmine branch from a vase on the table. The blood from her palm staining the white petals crimson she said, "I am sorry Einar that I was not what I should have been."
As tears fell down her face Hoshi walked out into the night in the direction of the fox, now crouching in the foliage. She dropped the jasmine branch in front of the small hunter before her and kept walking towards the temple.
