[RPG] Enter the Shades of the Lady

*"Yessss, my sweetlings," Alaina cooed, "swift as shadows my Shades strike,
silent in the night."

The small clearing was lit dimly by the light of the waning moon. Alaina
stood at the head of the column. Her long cloak was as black as the shadows
that surrounded the grove, and her long hood obscured her face in shadow.
Her eyes scanned the men drilling around her. The Shades of the Lady were
night themselves, clad in black cloaks and breeches. Their weapons and
armour had blacked out by a substance comprised largely of coal residue
Alaina had perfected, so as to hide the glint of steel as the moon picked
its way across the sky. "Shadows in the night, my sweetlings," she purred,
"swift and silent."

Her enemies would soon enough know the nightmare brought by the Shades. They
would know what it was to fear the fall of night...*
