[RPG] [FEI] When Scion finds Laura (part 3)

[Paris]

~Scion was finding it hard to stay awake now. The exhaustion finally
overtook him and he began to fall asleep. He didn't dream of much, but felt
something inside him. Maybe the sense was more acute in a subconscious
state, but that wasn't the point. He could feel something inside him. It was
feeding on his sorrow, and was ready to use it against him. What he then
realized was how poorly he'd locked his darkness away.

After what seemed to be an hour or two he woke up and felt a little more
rested. He looked at Laura whose position hadn't changed. He knew how
important she was to him, and after what he felt while sleeping, he realized
what would happen if he lost her... A frown of greater sorrow passed over
his face for a moment, but there was still hope.

Laura moved her hand and touched Scion's head. Her eyes were half open and
her lips were dry.~

Laura: "I love you..."

~She could hardly be heard; her voice was weak. Scion suddenly paid full
attention to Laura as soon as he felt her hand. It surprised him at first,
but then he heard her voice.~

Scion: "I love you too, Laura."

~He grabbed the water he'd set down before and offered it to her. He smiled,
but it was more for trying to cheer up the mood.~

Scion: "You sound like you could use a drink."

~He sat close to her and held her in a semi-sitting position and held the
water to her lips. When she was finished he kissed her cheek and layed her
down gently.~

Scion: "Did you need anything else? I'll gladly get it for you."

~Scion took a quick look around expecting the healer to come running back
in.~

Scion: "You have to get better, alright? I didn't come out here to lose
you."

~Laura was still exhausted but with time she could speak out some more
words.~

Laura: "Where is Robinson?"

~She turned her head to the other side seeking for her loyal healer, but
could not see him anywhere. Reluctant to leave, Scion eventually stood and
looked at her.~

Scion: "I'll take a quick look around. He left the tent a while ago, but I
haven't seen him since."

~He walked outside of the tent and began to look around after a couple of
steps he tripped and fell to the ground.~

Scion: "What the-"

~He looked at what he tripped over, sighed, and stood back up. As best as he
could he tried to lift the unconscious healer and slowly got him inside and
into a more comfortable area.~

Scion: "Looks like he's out for a while."

~He moved back beside Laura~

Scion: "He was tired when I got here, and has been working hard."

~He looked her over quickly and sighed again.~

Scion: "I think I've forgotten the most important thing. How are you feeling
now?"

~Laura was still exhausted and could hardly speak properly, though she knew
that they had to leave soon from wherever they were.~

Laura: "I am fair well. We need to move out and find food for the People of
Anacan."

~She made to move and rise from her bed, but suddenly she stopped and turned
at Scion.~

Laura: "Where are we? And why are you here?"

~While Scion was answering her questions, she stood up at her feet and
slowly moved to her sack with the supplies. She took out her gourd with
water and moved close at Robinson. Once reaching him, she turned to Scion.~

Laura: "Will you help me to bring him back? We do not have much time. We
need to leave."

~The heat of the summer, the diseased environment, her effort to move and
regain her strengths were making Laura sweat. Her lips were droughty and her
skin was chapped, but the scarce water of her gourd was destined for her
loyal healer, Robinson. *Scion had answered most of the questions as she
finished getting ready and then pulled her into his arms.~*

*Scion: *"We'll go back to Nighthelm. I've chased you around long enough."

~*He smiled and let her go.~*

*Scion: *"I told Sarig I was taking some leave with or without his
permission, after I got this."

~*He handed her, her half finished letter that Robinson had finished and
sent.~*

*Scion: *"I couldn' leave you alone, and rushed off the next morning. I
followed you to Taop where you were imprisoned, and King Corey thought I was
crazy because I was asking questions and couldn't find you."

~*He pulled some of the water out of his pack and handed it to her.~*

Scion: "Take this. I brought all I could from Taop."
