Prime Minister Aethius, and his cheif Lasanarian ambassador and diplomat,
Sir Alexander Weichtmeister, was on a grand ship at sea from Sanzzos to
Abilotiel. Word of the trial against the old labeled traitors Sarig
TithOnanka and Fredrick Stormreaver had reached them just as they set sail
from Sanzzos, leaving the region in the hands of the much capable Count
Walter. Prime Minister Aethius turned to Alexander and began to utter the
feelings he felt after hearing about the trial.
- "Traitors cannot be forgiven. They betrayed the ideals and freedom of
Lasanar by taking up arms against the establishment, the ruling Prime
Minister!"
Ambassador Alexander looked a tad bit sad and said,
- "But in the defense of the Republic, is it not acceptable to fight even
with arms? For freedom to rule, must not the tree of liberty be refreshed
from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrrants?"
Prime Minister Aethius dwelled upon that sentence. "What on earth did he
mean?" he pondered.
Sir Aethius took a strong breath and said,
- "The question we must ask ourselves is wether the Republic or our Freedom
stands first, and who is to decide such a thing, for no matter to whom
you´ll speak, you will hear the logical conclusion being quite different
than the one before. Can one be loyal by taking up arms against his own
government? Can one be loyal by resisting those who take up arms in, what
they consider to be a just cause but you consider to be an act of treason?
I´m Prime Minister, I cannot side with treason for it will encourage others
to do what they once did. Promise me you will keep this confidential,
Alexander."
Ambassador Alexander looked upon him with a serious look and said,
- "Of course I will keep this confidential, but you can support this.
Fredrick Stormreaver seems like an honest and honourble man. No matter if
this was a misstake or a just thing to do, he has paid for it by being
banned from Lasanar soil for far too long."
A scribe came in with a letter, delayed by the travel at sea. It was about
Alexander. It stated that Alexander was actually a Sir Alexander Stormreaver
and that it had been uncovered by Prime Minister Aethius personal police who
had followed him into the south after suspecting something odd was going on.
Prime Minister Aethius face became still. A Stormreaver...advocating for
Fredrick... the pupils of his eyes suddently filled almost the very corners
of the black surface.
- "Ambassador Alexander, is your family name not really Stormreaver? Like in
Fredrick Stormreaver! Weichtmeister only being a lie! A forged bloodline!
Sir Aethius veins of blood themselves seemed close to explode at this
moment.
The Ambassador looked into the wooden deck of the ship. The silence was
unbearable. The Prime Minister stirred at him, waiting anxiously for a reply
when a hard object hit him in the head and he fell to the ground,
unconsious. When he looked up again, Sir Fredrick was out of sight and
nowhere to be found.
