(OOC: This is part of an RP exercise in Lasanar to get people

- involved
- familiar with Lasanar's history (I hardly know much of it)
- RPing about something other than bars

I will begin with the OOC post I made about the exercise. Everyone on the 
FEI is welcome to participate if you have something to say (on this list 
would probably be best), though of course more weight will be given to 
Lasanarian nobles.

Out-of-Character from Galiard
Message sent to everyone in your realm (30 recipients)
A quick OOC note about something I'm going to be doing that can 
(potentially) involve everyone in Lasanar. Something to do before the next 
war explodes.

Galiard will be holding a trial (of sorts) about something that happened a 
long time ago in Lasanar's history -- though it affects two current (and 
more than a little influential) characters. The trial will be decided based 
on testimony from as many of the parties involved as I can get it from. 
ICly, there will be several minor NPC functionaries serving as judges 
underneath Galiard. Some of them may even have wigs. OOCly, what those 
judges think and say will be influenced by the nobles of Lasanar. So you, 
the nobles of Lasanar, will be able to influence the outcome of the trial. 
It's not a jury trial and it's not a vote - but the decision will be made 
ICly, based on the sum of Galiard's character and behavior and the weight of 
opinions provided by all of you.

Here's how to play:

#1) Read the following RP, and the then the following letter, which will 
contain The Story Thus Far. Please read all of it if you want to 
participate! It's not too much and it's interesting stuff.
#2) Submit a public RP to the realm involving either your character or NPCs 
in your character's retinue. They can be discussing the case, or talking 
amongst themselves, or really whatever you want - be clever and creative 
with the format, but it will be assumed that, however you choose to convey 
it, everyone else in the realm can (if they choose) opt to be aware of that 
conversation/letter/opinion/etc. There's no pressure to write your magnum 
opus here, but obviously, the more creative you are, the more it'll weigh on 
the case!
#3) I will collect testimony and send it to the realm as I get it.
#4) A decision will be made.

This isn't just a game - it involves (directly) two characters and three 
realms, and (indirectly) more than that. ICly, it will be a Big Deal, as the 
event in question was a significant piece of Lasanar's history. So put on 
your powdery wigs and get your gavels ready!
