San lay down in sleep as the night continued.... but his dreams were not so
peaceful as the night overhead...

There was red sky; whether sunrise or sunset San could not tell, but that
did not concern him; his tactical mind saw that there were walls ahead and a
siege being prepared. he summoned up his men, and elite corps summoned for
the avenging battle that would commence.

The next minutes passed in a blur. San remembered charing up, glimpsing
twisted and starving soldiers upon the walls, and with a holy fury he and
his men ascended the walls and cut down the defenders, before charging
through the street.

A man led his troop up the street, bearing the colours of Caligus and a
small unit with him.

A sense of vengeance and bloodlust came over San and he screamed at his m,en
to charge the unit, which they ddi; the troops of Caligus trried to ghold
out, but San and his men overcame, until there was only the leader, a hero
fighting against San's men, slaying a few while the lesser troops had
destroyed them. San shouted to him, over the pulse of his heart that he
could hear...

"You! Turn and fight me, or I swear by the dead hero of Itorunt that I shall
slay you where you stand."

San men fell into line behind him, and the hero turned to face him.

"And by what provocation do you deserve to kill... me?"

San stopped dead... he couldn't breathe... this couldn't be... the man he
had declared as close as a brother to him, his best friend in the world...
here? And on the wrong side of a battle?

The walls collapsed around him... the armies turned into demons and the city
burned... but all San saw was his opponent... and then not even that, as
the chaos crashed down on him and he started back into the lands of the
living.

San awoke with a gasp, sweating profusely, but already the horror was fading
from his memory... for who was that hero?

(OOC: Don't know if it's possible, but if someone could forward this on to
Brian Fionn in Caligus it would be appreciated, for the RP's when San finds
out.)

I had a mentor, "See the spoon, see the spoon" he used to say, but all I saw
was fish.
