                He picked up the sword, the ceremonial blade Hoshi had given him at his  appointment to the post of High Marshall not two weeks before. He slowly  unsheathed the blade and looked at it. 
        Suddenly, he threw it across the room. It hit the wall close to the open  balcony door. 
            He stared blankly at the wall in front of him for a moment, then buried  his face is his hands, breathing heavily. "Forgive me Lord, I have failed
" He  said in a small voice

  <i>Hoshi smiles a weary smile...she has not slept  much in days...she reads her reports in sadness...her two closest  friends and her husband have protested her decision to allow SC a  chance to breath...a chance to prove it now exists in honor...though  Palnasos was taken in dishonor...these people who are closest to her  seem not to be hearing the words coming from her mouth when she assures  them that Valius means Svunnetland no harm and that should the tide of  SC turn from a path of honor to a path of dishonor...it will not be  Svunnetland alone that would oppose her...
  
  The loss of Palnasos is truly a sharp and painful loss...but perhaps it  is a loss that must be endured in order to find it once again...perhaps  an alliance between SC and Svunnetland is what is needed to bring  Palnasos home...resting beside Svunnetland as a free realm...a sister  realm...perhaps one door closing does not have to mean the entire home  is shut up...but that a new and better door has been found...</i>
