I roleplayed extensively with Osric - ask anyone with a character in the
Ethialan Senate that saw my messages. I also RPed something being up with
Orphen-Orphaea in my realm - of course not directly telling, but at least
implying that he had some sinister plan in motion. We both roleplayed our
reasons to people. Osric RP'ed it to his allies. I mentioned in the TA
council Luyten's coming and why he was doing it (of course, Luyten was lying
through his teeth) and at *any time* one of the TA council could have
brought something up against it and the secession would have been nipped in
the bud right there and then, with no one to carry it out (Orphen was
actually also looking for an Aenilian rather than a former Aenilian to carry
out the secession (thus a RP I sent to the character Xarnelf individually),
so either way it would probably have happened sooner or later). The
secession was also not just to 'get rid of the rest of his realm', of the
nobles currently in GA fully half of them would have been former Aenilians,
with others (I believe) coming eventually. The cap move made sense in terms
of defense, which was also RP'ed or implied (Orphen-Orphaea not having a
true connection to the 'home' of the faith, the faith being 'reborn' in the
true spiritual capital of the Aenil, knowing how it would hurt Arella, the
suggestion to move capital also being made *before* any thought of secession
came up - IC or OOC). Unorthodox, certainly. The character's a
'traitor'/'reformer'? Certainly. Not RP'ed? Hardly. This was planned in
advance with nobles not directly connected with the secession, and
Orphen-Orphaea's always been RPed as having his own agenda - this is not
like what people said about Ragnaron and taking the opportunity.
Just because you weren't party to the RP until the event doesnt mean to go
about crying foul.
