Dyre recognized failure when he saw it. Perhaps it was the hint of
peach that was the deal breaker... at any rate he subtly got the servers
attention then almost inperceivably moved the transmuted drink aside to
accomadiate the vile rain barrel brew that they served here... to each
their he figured and lket the subject drop. However the title she used
started him. It was ptresumptuous at the least.

"Sir?" He shot a clumsy look of surprise at the woman acrossed the table
from him. "Sir, maybe for my father, I doesn't rightly remember, but I
do not think that it has ever been applied to me." He tried to remember
his father briefly, it was so long ago so many lives before... he
remembered that his mother went insane over his death... this of course
he reflected with a grim humor, was nothing new...

He noticed it almost instantly... he had drifted away for the briefest
moment... but if this woman noticed that he didn't actually need to work
for money than she surely would have noticed that he had gotten lost in
a far away place even for a moment. He now wanted to kick himself for
his the self inflicted hermitage that he had done over these past few
decades... the research that had gone for not. His social skills here
as they had been in Outer Tilog left a lot to be desired. He wanted to
make an impression on this woman that intrigued him so and he was likely
doing that... making a bad impression. He tried to smile easily dispite
how dismally he felt he was doing.

"I can see that I have failed to fool you... Lady," he said with just a
hint of a question. "I do it to keep my hands in practice and my skills
sharp, it makes the kids happy... and maybe just a little to upset the
status quo." he finished a slight grin on his face.
