While that's all true, it misses the true spirit of RP.

Really good RP is much more than just dressing up game-mechanics  
actions in fancy words, and not hating the players whose characters  
your characters are at war with.  It's about your character having a  
whole distinct personality, and goals that make sense for a person to  
have, and staying consistent to that personality...while still  
evolving as a person.  Ariana is very much a different person than  
she was a few months ago--she could never have dreamed that she'd be  
getting married!  And, more to the point, neither could *I*.

Now, Gul'Dan may be a world-class RPer; I haven't had chance to RP  
with him much (is he on the list?)...but just because you can fight  
IC and laugh OOC doesn't make you one.  And neither does roleplaying  
your enemies' long journey as cowardice in not attacking.
