He could see her heart burdened with the lose of a place that she had put her energy, time, and in her minds eye her only home. He walked up quietly and wrapped his arms about her... she acted as if he had actually surprised, and he appreciated that she still did that for him.

"It is only a place my love, only a place." He breathed into her ear. "My home is with you and that exist in my heart and can not be taken away by man, god, or force of arms... and your home is with me."

Einar could feel her shudder with loss and sadness. "Yes I heard," his voice seemed far away but held a serenity that seemed almost out of place or etheral. "Maybe it is better for him... he was so tied to events and places that it spelt only heartbreak and heartache for him. You know I loved both of our fathers dearly... but I think the greatest things they have granted me was in their deaths. They have combined now taught me what it truely important in life and what is not. What is not is places and things... what is important is you, and my heart has room in it for you and..."

Einar Eiryn, turned his wife towards him and looked deeply into her eyes. It was a look of a different man, not the Look of the young Caesar-All King of the Empire, or the boy being groomed to turn the Empire on its ear. Not the King of Svunnetland that stood before her... but her friend, lover, and mate. It was not until he was sure she recognize the difference that he continued, "... our children..."

Hoshi reached up and touched Einar's face. She knew his words were meant to lend comfort...but Palnasos was more than a place...more than things...it was also the people...and she had sworn an oath to those people to protect them...to care for them...and she was failing in that oath...

She could see that much had changed in Einar...she wondered if the changes in her were as evident...she had lost much of her carefree spirit...she had a determination about her she had not carried before...

At the mention of children she turned from him...her eyes heavy with tears...

"I know that things and land are just that...things and land...but they are so much more sometimes...Palnasos is my heart...Svunnetland is my heart...I've sworn an oath to protect the people of this land...it is not an oath I take lightly...it is not an oath I could easily walk away from...."

Until recently Hoshi had not realized how much of who she was...was tied up in this place and its things...how much she defined herself through her service to this land and its people...
