Nobles of Sirion,
Allow to me tell you this story. The tale of me growing up in my family
mansion, in the city of Avamar.
My family was richer than most other familes. The mansion was large, and had
many corners, always full of servants during the day. During the night, it
was however, very quiet. My father, Sir Sakima, did not like to be disturbed
during the nights, so that is why it was quiet, he sent everyone away then.
He used to teach me and my brother Aethius many things. We used to sit in
his lap, hearing teachings of astronomy, mathematics, strategy, ethics and
honour. He was surprisingly quiet when it came to telling us about realms. I
still do not know why, and I assume it is too late now.. as he died.. on the
battlefield..
My aunt Naira spoke constantly of realms though. I liked her when I was
younger, but then we got into disputes, because from what I had seen, her
"facts" are incorrect and her views are very different from mine. She spoke
of the "evil" eleves but I never saw any evil, quite the opposite infact.
In any case, I was glad when the liberation force came to Avamar, to take it
back, feed it and make sure that the people were happy. Naira fought and
fled while I stood with my arms open, welcoming the forces and telling the
peasants that they need not be afraid. Naira cursed at me, telling me that I
did not know what I was doing, but I believe I did know, and I still do.
It was only natural that I seeked to serve Sirion when I became old enough,
that being now.
Sir Walerian (Noble)
