Riding through the bridge crossing the river separating Lasop and Larmebsi, Thrasymaque looks at Aethelwulf, Jeselek and Law which are also in Larmebsi. Each of these three men is a valuable asset to Ethiala. Each of them is serious, smart and dedicated. They arrived in Ethiala in wholly different times; they represent three different generations. Aethelwulf is one of the veterans who lived through so many events that they cannot be related. Jeselek is a senior Ethialan who arrived from Drachenwald, in Atamara, in despair from loosing his realm only to be appreciated at once in Ethiala where he joined the Senate and even the Government quite soon. Law is a clever troop leader who doesnt fear the judgment of his superiors when he knows hes right and, even though he might not know it, he influenced powerful leaders more than once by his comments.
He says to them:
You know, noble men, that I have very contradictory feeling right now? We are marching in front of an Army which is about to accomplish the greatest increase in wealth and power Ethiala ever undertook. We will take Lasop, which will increase Ethialas standing nearly to that of Nighthelm without even waging battles as Lasanar did it for us. This is great for Ethiala, of course. But not only do I dislike conquests without victories, I also feel guilty about Arcaea. We waged many wars against them, yes, but we also mutually forgave many things. While I was King, we even led a joint campaign with them against Arcachon and Sartania to protect the falling Highland Empire. How past and future meet, we can never foresee
As for today, our great Kings wisdom is certain. The Arcaeans, in front of these crucial events, did they remove the tyrannical judge Gunfire and elect as King the fair Riar Dynrode to save their realm? No, not at all. They keep their trust and respect in the one who executed the Ethialan noble Master, tried to executed King Osrics lover Jacqueline and executed a noble of our ancestral ally Lasanar. They even elected as King a member of the nemesis family of the ruler of that selfsame ancestral ally. Do they wish to survive or do they wish to die with pride? Either way, Ethiala reacts as Honor dictates. We cannot allow blatant disregards to our dignity to be ignored.
Raise your heads high, fellow Ethialans! Today, we march toward our mother realm. Ages ago, Ethiala was part of Arcaea. It is only when Cebre, Duke of Talex, seceded his city from Arcaea to create Monarchy of Ethiala that our beloved realm came into existence. In a few months, Arcaea will be a memory not only to the Ethialan history but to the Far East as a whole. I will miss Yarah. I really liked that man; I truly respected him. We fought many wars against him, for good and bad reasons, but we always fought each other with honor. How could Arcaea leave that great leader stand down from the throne? Today, Arcaea can only ask for pity from its ancestral glory. How sad
Thrasymaque rides quietly, his numerous High Guard following in a rhythmic march. History goes on
