"Bremham, your horse, if you will."

"Pardon me, my lord?"

"Your horse. May I borrow it for a day or two?"

"Ahh... certainly, Arch Priest."

Gauihu smiled while his Captain got over the momentary confusion. A capable,
effective and loyal man, Bremham was. Gauihu made a note to do something
special. He had been there when a lot of weaker men would have lost their
stomachs.

While the *Law of Abington* now marched to their destination (with Bremham
in command but, alas, horseless as any of the rest of the soldiers), Gauihu
rode ahead. He rode north, and east, toward passes in the mountains he knew
from his childhood.

He had some family business to take care of.
