AJ <j.anant at gmail.com> wrote: Yarah was tired. The temple for Pacifism whose construction he had overseen had only been completed. And the small ceremony to consecrate it a temple in honor of the goddess Tara. His only motive in establishing the religious order of Pacifism was to work for the betterment of humanity and try and heal their souls from the ravages of war which had only recently plagued the entire world.
Soon after the consecration, Yarah went to his chambers in Beziers to rest for a while. In his tiredness, he never realized when he fell asleep. But it turned out to be a mistake for while he slept, a debate raged in the realm regarding the religion's establishment. Haruspex Maximus Korin took such an exception that he made a proclaimed realm wide asking Yarah to leave Ibladesh, never to return. And by the time he awoke, it was too late.
He had only begun drafting replies to the various questions and oppositions raised against Pacifism when Arfeniel, someone who opposed Yarah came to his chambers smirking and announced he was arresting Yarah. Yarah now a priest and without a personal unit of his own could do nothing but surrender. With the arrest, Yarah could not defend his actions nor reply to the rest of the realm until he was released from prison. The only ones he could possibly contact were Pontifex Sorcha and Haruspex Maximus Korin who had already expressed his disfavor for Pacifism. So Yarah decided to speak to the pontifex directly and wrote a letter to her:
Pontifex Sorcha,
Yes I accept that maybe I was too hasty in establishing the order not waiting for your reply. But I would like to explain why. The reason for my completing the temple consecration ceremony was because I had been told by a local priest that the hour was very auspicious and any action taken then would be favorable. You must understand that I was not officially a priest then to judge the advice. Now thinking back, it seems the hour was not so auspicious afterall.
Neverthless, I ask for a fair hearing and a chance to explain myself and the goals of Pacifism, if not to the realm, atleast to you. And before any such hearing which if granted, I wish to assure you, in no way was my intention to undermine the Church or to work against our realm. I have always been a loyal noble and would not even dream of any action which might damage the realm's reputation. I seek to work for the realm and to try and better it's standing in the world.
Loyally,
Yarah Arya

http://news.battlemaster.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/rpgA letter arrives for Yarah. The messenger wears the colors of the Pontifex and looks weary. Yarah was not an easy man to find these days.
Greetings Yarah,
I am saddened that this letter reaches you as it does. We have much to talk about you and I and it seems time ran out while you were in prison. It seems that the Korin's guards moved swiftly to see you removed from Ibladesh. Had I acted sooner perhaps we could have had the bans removed as soon as they were spoken by our Haruspex Maximus, but I was attending to matters in Lorient and dealing with a few diplomatic issues.
I would like to open this dialogue now. Would you be willing to meet me in Lorient so that we may give your church and your views its fair hearing? And will you accpet my appologies as we moved to safegaurd the Church of Ibladesh from opposition...for your move was seen as counter to the Church's teachings since you did not allow for disucussion and because informants told the royal guard and the Harispex Maximus that you had in secret been recruiting members for this church before you even built the temple.
I hope that we can sit and talk so that we can each see where the other comes from on this issue.
