Victor stands before King Xerxes and fixes his cape.

My lord.... I have always been a firm follower in your cause, and that 
of the Sanctum as a whole and I will continue to do so for the good of 
our realm....

Though, we must make it seem like Zonasa are the aggressors so I ask 
that you do not start the war, let them do it..... they will seem like 
the aggressors then. We must also be cautios about how we word things, 
in such an event it is important that we keep this between Zanosa, 
Commonwealth and ourselves. We dont want our friends allying with the enemy.

As for giving up Ansopen, I have two conditions;

1. That the Commonwealth give their word to treat the people there with 
dignity and respect.

2. In exchange for my secrecy, advice and giving up my title as Count of 
Ansopen, I wish to be named Duke of Zonasa.

Xerxes responded to Victor:

"Yes, Count Victor, I will do everything I can to cast Zonasa as the 
aggressor in this conflict and us as a realm wronged and insulted. As I 
said, Antoza will support us fully.

"Regarding Ansopen: Antoza ruled in Ansopen for a long time before it 
became part of the Sanctum. I am sure they will treat Ansopen and its 
people well.

"Now, about your last point..."

Xerxes hesitated. Victor had openly requested his King the title of 
Duke. If Victor's intentions were good, he would be an excellent Duke, 
but if his intentions were ambitious and selfish, it was even possible 
that he could lead Zonasa into a secession. Then the entire war would 
have been for nothing...

But Xerxes was thinking as if Zonasa were already his, already under the 
control of the Sanctum.

"Count Victor, we do not yet even control Zonasa militarily. It would be 
irresponsible of me as a King to bestow titles of land upon my nobles 
before the land in question is ours. In any case, Ansopen will not be 
ceded until all Zonasa is in our hands, so there is plenty of time yet 
to see how things will play out."

[Victor responds:]

As though that may be my lord our intention is to take their land, I am 
talking as if we achieve our goal that I be fully compensated as such 
for the sacrifice.... as more of a point my lord.... I love my people, I 
care for them and I ensure their safety and I will continue to do so, if 
the time comes when I should turn the people back to the commonwealth 
then I will have my scouts keep check on them.... so you are not only 
asking me to sacrifice the people of Ansopen to a forgeign reign but you 
are asking me to turn away from them as their local lord.... but I know 
it is in the best interests of the Sanctum, so I see it as only fair 
that in the event that Zanosa enters the hands of the Sanctum that it 
fairly be given to myself.... I have proven to be loyal have I not?
