It was a cold morning, and Widfara rose with a chill in his heart, knowing
that what he fought for would decide the future of his family and even of
realms.

He wrote to Ancelin, knowing that whatever the outcome her childlke belief
in "Tor" would be what would carry her through, and so he kept up the
deception, that he was the "prophet". He instructed his scribe to leave it
for her when she was healed, and waked outside to the dueling ring to face
his opponent, Glorawarthien.

What happened next was beyond Widfara's skill to predict, let alone counter.
within a few mvoes, Widfra had been outsmarted, and as the blade cut through
him he gasped his last words, knowing that few would ever heed them...
"There is no hope for the heartlands of the east now".

The healers rushed to him but too late, Widfara had already stopped
breathing.
----
Gorch arrived on the shores of the south east, in Bieth, and immediately
headed to te stronghold. The burial of Widfara was a sad day; and he was the
only member of his family to be here.

Looking around at the other nobles, he saw delirium and chaos, fragmented
leadership, and his brothers ultimate killer. he knelt down by Widfara and
wept for the pointlessness. He knew that his retirement was over as of now;
it wwas tme to face the real world agin.
----
San walked out over the streets of Ortedail, stopping and looking over the
ramparts.

He turned to face the city and it was visible that he had been crying
lately; usurprisingly, he had a lot to deal with. The usual things with
politics he could always deal with but Alex's reaction to the news had
really driven him over the edge.

He headed into the nearest tavern he could find and ordered himself a drink.
It would be a long time before he was over this.
----
(OOC: if someone could post the Widfara and Gorch bits to Toren, it would be
much appreciated, didn't have a chance to being dead and all.)

The Internet is truly a wealth of exotic and meaningful information. Each
new nugget of knowledge it brings to me makes me a little bit stupider.
