... problem is that they might be 0% knights.. not certain. I would have
bad marked and kicked them out if I was still playing the duke, for not
honoring their oath (and get the judge to ban them) so technically..
there might be no oath of fealty as such... aside from some broad
mercenarial oath to the realm. (banning doesn't work anyway)

you could say the timing of my declaration of war is suspect. it's just
very unfortunate that shadovar attacked melodia right when they were
where they were. war was going to be declared either way, because my
character (and me...) believe shadovar should have declared war before
attacking. You could say my character doesn't actually know if war was
declared before the attack. All he got was letters saying unprovoked
attack and so forth. No one has said anything different to him since anyway.

I mean.. I could have let them pass all the way through before declaring
war. Equally, I could have asked the judge to just ban the lot of them
(and as I said before.. .doesn't work) and declare war after a few
letters. the options all make just about as much sense ICly as each other.

Is it possible for a realm to not accept "oath" from nobles who want to
switch realm?

as for relocation. I don't see a problem with that. Under the threat of
being wiped out... I don't see why a choice of exile to colonise some
far off place is powergaming/ooc.
