Sounds rather clever, actually. Nothing says a noble has to be honest
in his
pledge of fealty. Perhaps he views the realm's banner as a flag of
conveniece?
He's only flying the flag of the realm for a short time in order to
deceive the
locals. It may not fit your view of a noble, but I can see it as
something a
slighty-less-than-honorable noble might do in order to make a safe
midnight
passage.
It all depends on how it is handled by the player. If he provides
suitable
explanation *when asked*, then this is fine.
---------------------
I don't claim to know anything about the actual situation (I don't even
have a character on Dwilight), but it brings my thoughts back to a
discussion we had on this list a while ago. When we set a goal (like
joining B to make walking from A to C easier) *then* come up with a
roleplay to justify it, even though there is an "IC reason", it feels
like we're losing something important. Like maybe we're missing the
point.
