Alright. It wasn't made clear yet that they were still in the realm.

if they came up with a solid RP reason for both joining the realm AND
leaving it immediately, then I could see some small amount of
understanding, still I believe it wasn't the right thing to do.

Linked from the SMA page on BM Wiki is this page:
http://wiki.battlemaster.org/index.php/Oath_of_Fealty

The Oath of Fealty was a serious matter that was not entered into nor
revoked lightly.

And this other situation you describe with a realm giving away their
land I can't agree with either under SMA. It's most definitely
powergaming.

=========

Yes, at the time of the deportation the characters that had left Realm A
and joined Realm B had not left yet. Given all of the RP background
that had gone into the rest of the back-story for those characters there
most certainly would have been and RP reason given for leaving and it
would also have lead to some fantastic RP's and even realm rivalry
because the new realm would have been very close to Realm B. Anyway,
the bullet was already fired from the gun and the damage done. Months
of planning and RP'ing was destroyed because of a poor decision and
those who were involved will adapt and try again in the future.

As for the other situation... yeah... not sure how that's legit but the
other situation isn't but... then again I'm not the smartest of people.
*shrugging*
